Unlike many fantasy worlds, the default position of an everyday Almish person is to feel no special allegiance to a deity or religion; atheists.
Although there are a number of popular philosophies, spiritual traditions and of course the Church of the White Staff, the majority of people in Alm choose to forgo worship and other religious practices. United only by their lack of worship, atheists are not a group but simply a number of individuals, with philosophies and goals as widely varied as Alm itself.
